I think about this book every time I order a latte. Which, considering how much coffee I drink, means I think about it a lot.

Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree is a cozy fantasy that reminds us all that no matter where we came from, or who we've become, a fresh start and a new beginning is possible for us all.

It follows Viv, a warrior orc who spent her entire life as a mercenary and decides to trade in her sword for an espresso maker and a dream. Her small, beautiful dream of opening up her very own coffee shop. It doesn't come easy for her. Used to never having to ask for anything, she decides she wants to change. Not just her occupation, but some pretty dark parts of herself.

Tempted to go back to her old ways of getting things done, because let's face it, cracking skulls seems far more effective when dealing with difficult people from time to time, she learns to navigate a place where coffee has never existed. (I know, a place without coffee should be illegal, right?!)

Thank goodness Viv has made it her mission to not only show people the joy a steaming hot cup of coffee can give, but to prove that with hard work, anything is possible. With an ensemble of whimsical characters that make you want to jump into the pages and get to know them each personally. From an adorable little rattkin named Thimble, who proves you don't need to say much to be memorable, to Tandri, a beautiful pink succubus whose tail says everything she doesn't. This book fills up every corner of your heart.

Perfect for a quick weekend read, beside a hot cozy cup of coffee, or simply for a smile after a long day. Legends & Lattes is the perfect warm and cozy read you'll want to curl up with. A beautiful reminder that no dream is too small. In fact, the most humble of dreams can bring together the most giant of hearts.
